You will receive the exact terrarium shown in the photo. This terrarium is made of plastic, with small rocks, organic charcoal, and sphagnum moss in the bottom. This creates space for water drainage and prevents fungus and rot. The soil is a cactus/succulent mix and the top dressing is a combination of reindeer moss, white sand, and colorful pebbles. The container does not have drainage holes, so we recommend watering with a small squeeze bottle as shown in the 2nd photo. You can purchase one of these bottles from us separately for $4 if desired.

Succulents include Sempervivum, Jade Plant, and Haworthia.

Sempervivum

Gardeners who take the “no fuss” approach will love Sempervivum plants. Sempervivum care and maintenance are almost task free and their lovely rosettes and hardy nature are standouts in the garden. Not only do the plants thrive on neglect but they produce offsets, or new plants, every season that are simple to separate and grow, Sempervivums require several hours per day of bright light in a sunny location.

Jade Plant

Jade Plant is an easy-to-grow succulent that stores water in its leaves, stems, and roots. As with all succulents, overwatering is sure to be fatal, so err on the side of keeping the soil too dry rather than too wet. Jade plants also need a lot of light to develop to their fullest potential. However, they should be protected from harsh direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves, especially of young plants.

Haworthia

The Haworthia is a miniature succulent native to South Africa and is one of the easiest houseplants to care for. Haworthia is characterized by its rosette-shaped, tightly packed leafy clusters. Some are firm, tough, and dark green, whereas other species are softer and even translucent. Those of the firm, dark green variety are typically dotted with white spots and can turn a rich hue of purple-red when exposed to full sun. Thrives in bright indirect to direct light. Can tolerate more medium indirect light than other common succulents. Water every 2-3 weeks in direct light, allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light.
