Viewed as the greatest bush bean ever! But the breeder, to prevent its unintended grow-out, placed it under a patent that was sold to a French firm with no interest in this American icon. The patent expired, so we can all enjoy these straight, round, deep green pods growing so slowly to stay stringless and extra tender. Huge yields from an open habit that allows for easy harvest. But the flavor? That old-timey, succulent, ‘beany’ taste found only when home grown. Versatile. Superb virus resistance. 1990 AAS Winner.
