Gypsy peppers are a hybrid pepper developed by Petoseed, a Southern California company specializing in hybridizing peppers and tomatoes. They are a cross between sweet Italian bull horn peppers and bell peppers. This prolific pepper variety has a sweet flavor with no heat. The 3-4 inch wedge-shaped fruits are very tender, crunchy and sweet. The plants average 18-20 inches in height with a 14-18 inch spread and are resistant to tobacco mosaic virus disease. Peppers turn from light yellow to red when mature. This pepper was named by my dad, Jim Waltrip.
