This bean is a improvement on the old Blue Lake FM-1, with same rich, distinctive flavor. Our best canning variety. White seeded.

This vigorous, 7 foot tall completely stringless variety made Oregon’s Willamette Valley famous in the ‘60s and ‘70s for canning beans. The 6–7 inch, dark green pods have a canning-jar-straight, round shape. Very little foliage makes it easy to pick. Vigorous vines profusely produce loads pods that extend out from the vine. Harvested at their peak, you’ll find them tender, meaty, and full of hearty, fresh bean flavor.  2003 AAS Winner.
